Rule-r of Thumb

I know, I know. Space is tight – and no one wants to hear they need to finagle more of it. You might say “If I give you an inch – you’ll take a mile!” Say no more – I won’t take more than a few inches – I promise.

As a general rule of thumb, books should never be stored directly against walls but should be at least three inches away from them [NEDCC]

Collection materials should also be kept in storage furniture at least four inches off the ground.[NEDCC]

Hoping for a keepsake to help you remember? I thought you’d say that – so I made you a printable ruler with the markings so you can see how you measure up.
